The winners of the first Nationwide painting contest named after Adalbert Erdelyi have been determined in Uzhgorod. In total, 25 students from 11 universities of Ukraine took part in the creative contest.
The contestants had to make a painting during the plein air held on October 22 in the territory of Uzhgorod Skansen. According to People’s Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Skakandiy, the environment for the plein air was chosen very well.
The contest is timed to the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the first art institution in the region, which will be celebrated in March 2016. Symbolically, in the jubilee year, the institute will become the Academy (at the beginning of the next school year).
After the solemn introduction, the winners of the first Nationwide painting contest named after Adalbert Erdelyi were announced and the certificates were handed:
1. Grand Prix – Margarita Romanenko ("Luhansk National University named after Shevchenko");
2. Nomination "For technical performance" – Anastasia Shchetinina (Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts);
3. Nomination "For stylistic organization in covering the topic" – Irina Vorona-Baltazyuk (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture);
4. Nomination "For the continuation of the traditions of the Transcarpathian school of painting" – Vira Vorobok (Transcarpathian Art Institute).
The President of the National Academy of Arts Andriy Chebykin presented his own awards – honorary diplomas. His favorites were already mentioned Margarita Romanenko, Irina Vorona-Baltazyuk and Vira Vorobok, as well as Mykola Krykun (Khmelnytsky Humanitarian and Pedagogic Academy).
All participants of the comtest received valuable album editions, books and supplies for painting.
