Air transportation of contraband, which is not a Transcarpathian invention, but already a Transcarpathian tradition, once again was revealed by border guards.
In Transcarpathia, near the village of Velyka Dobron, smugglers were detained red-handed. They were transporting the cigarettes across the border by a hang glider.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.
Yesterday, border guards together with officers of the Security Service of Ukraine and the police, and also Hungarian colleagues found and detained a small aircraft in Transcarpathia. Three persons were detained nearby. They were carrying tobacco products, which they wanted to transport across the border by the hang glider.
It was detected flying by a border patrol unit of the Chop detachment in the area of the department "Salovka."
During the search, law enforcement officers found 12 boxes of cigarettes "LM" and "Kompliment". A car Audi Q7 with Hungarian license plates was nearby. The detainees were two Ukrainians and one Hungarian.
The glider had navigation tools onboard and belonged to citizens of Hungary.
