More than 57.000 UAH worth of rubber was detained at Transcarpathian customs office

Yesterday, a truck "RENAULT MAGNUM" driven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived to the customs control zone at the customs post "Uzhgorod" of the Transcarpathian customs office. The vehicle was carrying a consolidated load into Ukraine.

According to the shipping documents submitted by the driver for customs control, polyurethane and polyol was being imported across the customs border of Ukraine among other goods. The sender of the goods was an Italian company, and the consignee was a Ukrainian company.

Having decided to conduct customs control and inspection of the vehicle and the goods, customs officers found out that the number of the declared positions matched that specified in the shipping documents. However, they found the discrepancy between the goods specified in the shipping documents and those being actually transported, namely, according to the documents, polyurethane and polyol component were being transported. In actuality, the vehicle was carrying styrene-butadiene rubber in granules weighing 1250 kg.

According to expert opinion, the cost of the undeclared goods is 2,387.50 Euro.

Thus, the truck driver moved the goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control by submitting to the customs authority the documents containing false information about the sender, the description, quantity, weight and cost of the goods.

These actions have signs of violations of customs rules provided for in Part 1 of Art. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the styrene-butadiene rubber worth 57,228 UAH was confiscated.
