Kolochava in recent years has become a center of many festivals, celebrations, creative meetings. The most anticipated holiday in Kolochava – the Day of the village – took place on Sunday, October 11 and was dedicated to the Day of Defender of Ukraine.
The festival began in the Kvasovets tract where they opened the bridge over the Tereblya river, which became the most important gift for the village.
The red tape across the long-awaited bridge was cut by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, the head of Mizhhirya District State Administration Vasyl Khudynets, the Rector of the National Pedagogical University named after MP Dragomanov Viktor Andrushchenko, the director of the National Park "Synevyr" Mykola Derbak. After the grand opening, Vasyl Khudynets thanked everyone for helping to overhaul the bridge, especially the leadership of the Drahomanov University, the staff and the director of the national park. Insignia and cash prizes were awarded to employees of the National Park "Synevyr" who were directly involved in the construction work: the deputy director of the park Vasyl Rosokha, bulldozer driver Ivan Savka, excavator driver Mykhailo Tilnyak, drivers Ivan Pechkan and Ivan Sitar, engineer Vasyl Barna.
The next stage of the celebration was a solemn procession, which was attended by teaching teams and students of all Kolochava schools, managers and students of preschool educational institutions, inhabitants and guests of the village. The procession participants laid flower baskets at the monuments located in Kolochava.
Teachers and students of Kolochava school №2 greeted the regional and the district administrations and the guests with a dance flash mob, bread and salt and doves.
The concert began in the village center, near Kolochava school №1 with the anthem of Kolochava performed by Ivan Steier.
After the official greetings and the presentation of numerous awards for contribution to the development of the village, artistic groups of Mizhhirya house of culture and children’s music school performed before the guests of the holiday. Their dances and merry songs gave the holiday a joyful rhythm. Members of the National Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir of Ukraine under the direction of People’s Artist of Ukraine, Professor of the National Pedagogical University Zenoviy Korinets charmed the audience with folk songs. Kolochava school pupils also showed their talents in singing and dancing.
Transcarpathian Ivan Pylypets and the winner of the show "The Voice" Anton Kopytin entertained the audience not only with beautiful songs, but also good jokes.
Performances of folk artists of Ukraine Dmytro and Nazar Yaremchuks closed the festive program and gathered a big audience. The holiday ended with sincere applause of viewers to both artists and the organizers of the festivities.
