The court announced the ruling in respect of Eduard Leonov, the head of the Transcarpathian oragnization of "Svoboda" and the person who was the first to announce running for the mayor of Uzhgorod.
As expected, today the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv imposed on the former MP the pre-trial restraint in the form of house arrest, rather than detention.
Thus, Mr. Eduard will be wearing an electronic bracelet. Leonov has no right to leave his apartment in Uzhgorod in the night-time, that is from 20:00 to 8:00.
As previously reported, Leonov and a number of his colleagues is suspected of organizing riots near the Parliament on August 31.
"Why does the court take into account the testimonies signed by fictional persons? This verdict is a criminal compromise with the rotten police system!" – Leonov commented the ruling.
