In Rakhiv district, criminal proceedings over illegal felling of trees have been initiated. 

Rakhiv district prosecutor’s office initiated two criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal felling of trees).

According to Rakhiv district prosecutor Victor Kuzan, currently it has been established that in two blocks of the Kobyletska Polyana Forestry of the State Enterprise "Velyky Bychkiv Foerst Hunting Range", unknown persons committed unauthorized felling of 142 trees worth more than 630,000 UAH.

Pre-trial investigation in these criminal proceedings is being carried out by the investigative department of Rakhiv District Police, Transcarpathian regional prosecution office reported.
