20-year-old Mukachevo resident Oleksandr Kasyanov won a bronze medal in the 20-kilometer distance at the bicycle orienteering championship of Ukraine.
The competitions were held in the last days of May in Kharkiv. Our countrymen finished only after more experienced masters: 29-year-old Artem Stryzhak and a year his junior Yevhen Tsyren. Both rivals represented Kyiv.
Kasyanov was the only representative of the region in these competition, so in the team competition Transcarpathia team took the last place, but the top three ones are two teams from Kharkiv region (first and third places) and Kyiv team (second place).
Transcarpathia also ignored the team championship of Ukraine in runnning orienteering, which took place in May in Krasnopilsk district of Sumy region. Here, teams of Kharkiv, Kyiv and Sumy regions became winners among the 32 teams.
