Under the government resolution, RSAs from now on do not regulate tariffs for passenger transportation

The Deputy Director of Economic Development and Trade Department of the Regional State Administration Yuriy Huzynets informed on the changes that have occurred in the regulation of tariffs for passenger transportation on suburban and intercity intraregional routes.

The official said that on May 5 this year, the head of the RSA had issued the order №125 "On tariffs for transportation of passengers and luggage by buses on suburban and intercity intraregional routes" that was registered the next day at the Department of Justice in Transcarpathian region and published in the media on May 8.

Meanwhile, on May 6, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd. 25.03.2015 № 240 "On amendments to the appendix to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd. December 25, 1996 №1548" was published in the newspaper "Uryadovy Kuryer". This document invalidates the paragraph by which regional state administrations were authorized to set tariffs for transportation of passengers and luggage by buses on suburban and intercity intraregional routes.

"We must now assume that the above order of the head of the RSA has been invalidated by the resolution of the Government of 25.03.2015 №240, – Yuriy Huzynats said and added. – Thus, at present, tarrifs for the transportation of passengers and luggage by buses on suburban and intercity intraregional routes shall not be regulated by the regional state administration."

However, the RSA hold regular discussions with the entrepreneurs engaged in passenger transportation in the region in order to set economically justified tariffs and prevent their unjustified growth.

Meanwhile, state tariff regulation will remain in urban passenger transportation.
