Apartment queues in Transcarpathia: people have been waiting for over 10 years

At the beginning of 2015, 4.2 thousand families and individuals, who need improvement of their living conditions, were on housing lists. More than half of the families had been on the apartment waiting list for more than 10 years.

This was reported by the Department of Statistics in Transcarpathian region.

  

 

Of the total number of the families on housing list, 29.6% live in dormitories, 21.1% are young families. 

Among the administrative units of the region, most families are on housing lists in the cities of Uzhgorod (45.7%), Mukachevo (35.2%), and in Vynogradiv (3.5%) and Tyachiv (2.6%) districts.

In total, in 2014, 10 families and individuals received appartments and had their housing conditions improved (including 3 families – residents of the regional center, 2 families in Volovets and Mizhhirya districts, 1 family from the city of Khust, Beregovo and Vynogradiv districts). Of the total number, 4 and 5 families enjoyed the right of extraordinary and priority provision of appartment, and 1 family was in the general queue. Of those, 4 families had been on the list for more than 10 years.
