In Uzhgorod, leading choirs of Uzhgorod and Lviv will perform music by Bach (Announcement)

On March 22, at 19.00, in the hall of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic, there will be the concert of the academic chamber choir "Cantus".

The program "Motets. Easter oratorio" is dedicated to the 330th anniversary of Bach and is based on the works of the famous German composer.

Known singers in the region Svitlana Hleba, Natalia Kozachuk, Istvan Haidu and instrumentalists Tomas Slyusarchyk, Stanislav Mayerski, Mykhailo Popovich will take part in the concert. The conductor – People’s Artist of Ukraine Emil Sokach. 

Also, special guests – the Academic Youth Symphony Orchestra "INSO-Lviv" under the direction of Ivan Ostapovych – will perform for Transcarpathian classical music fans.

As previously reported, the Uzhgorod concert will be preceded by the performance of both groups as part of the "Bach Marathon" to be held on March 21 in Lviv. The musical event dedicated to the anniversary of Bach will bring together some 600 participants from Ukraine and abroad, who will perform the composer’s works for 24 hours straight.

Bach will be heard everywhere, from elegant concert halls to small coffee shops, or right on the streets of the ancient city. On that day, the record of Ukraine in continuous live performance of music will be set.

The Transcarpathian collective will join the historical event at night, about one o’clock in the concert hall of the House of Organ and Chamber Music (Bandera st., 8).
