In Transcarpathia, an official of the election commission was punished for corruption

By the resolution of Uzhgorod city and district court in Transcarpathian region, an officer of the election commission was brought to administrative liability and obliged to pay a fine for committing corruption offenses.

According to the Uzhgorod inter-district prosecutor Oleksandr Andryshyn, "Uzhgorod Interdistrict Prosecutor’s Office prepared and submitted to the court the report of committing administrative corruption offenses against the chairman of the election commission for early presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25, 2014 (the village of V.Solotvino in Uzhgorod district)."

It has been established that the woman, being an official of the special collegial body authorized to arrange for the preparation and holding of presidential elections in Ukraine, violated the restrictions stipulated by the Law of Ukraine "On Principles of Prevention and Combating Corruption" and the requirements of this Law on conflict of interests.  

Thus, in violation of the Law of Ukraine "On the Election of the President of Ukraine", she intentionally, unreasonably, without a relevant decision of the election commission members, in order to obtain undue advantage, draw up a decision of the election commission, according to which she illegally received a one-time cash award. In addition, in the same way, she provided a one-time cash award to her son – a PEC member.
