Minimum wages and pensions in Ukraine will grow by 13% on December 1

Minimum wages and pensions will increase on December 1, 2015 by an average of 13%.

This was stated on TV by the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko, the "UNIAN" writes.

"You have to understand that social policy and pension system is a derivative. It depends on the economy, on salaries. I don’t want to say that some day, when the economy stabilizes, then… (we can raise pensions)," – Rozenko said.

According to him, the economic situation is really difficult, we have had economic downturn for almost three years, while pension benefits have been paid in full.

"And we do not stop, we’re not saying, look, the economy is not working – we can not do anything. No, we are conducting reforms. We clearly said that the effect of the reforms should be an increase in pensions, salaries. We have planned and it is stated in the budget that on December 1, 2015, the living wage, minimum pensions, minimum wages in Ukraine will be increased by 13%," – the Minister said.

He reminded that in 2014 the growth of social benefits was frozen. Therefor, the impending increase in payments is a significant result of the activities of social services.
