On February 5, the Mayor of Beregovo Zoltan Babiak met with the Chief of Beregovo District Police Mykola Kurytsya to discuss a number of issues.
"During the meeting, we touched upon the situation in the village of Hecha, where there was a mass brawl after the contest of butchers. Mykola Kurytsya reiterated that the brawl occured not for national or ethnic reasons. Currently, the group of persons, who committed this crime, have been identified. I stressed that the police should enhance vigilance and public order during mass events in Beregovo districts. Native residents and tourists must not feel anxious during such tourist events," – Zoltan Babiak wrote on his page on facebook.
In addition, the head of Beregovo District Police informed that soon another group of law enforcement officers would be sent to the ATO area.
"During the conversation, I raised the issue of the cars on Beregovo District Police impound lot. Some of them have been there for years. Therefore it is necessary to consider transferring at least two cars: one – for the needs of the 128th Brigade in the ATO area, another one – to community groups for ensuring public order in the city. The City Council will ensure repairs of the cars," – the head of Beregovo said.
