The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration commented on the retrofitting of public sector institutions for alternative heating, instead of gas. He said that now in districts of the region, they continue to install solid fuel boilers in educational, medicine and culture institutions, the funds for which came from subsidies from the state budget. "Local officials report that works are going on. There are some delays in delivery boilers – manufacturers do not always have enough time. But I see that districts and cities mostly cope with the tasks" – the head of the Regional State Administration informed.
Vasyl Hubal also said that by the end of the year, the updated Energy Conservation Program of the Transcarpathian region should be ready, and it provides for a gradual transition to alternative heating. "I believe that there should be a healthy competition in this area. In any case, the practice when some "chosen" companies deal with this matter must be abamdoned – only different enterprises chosen based on best offers. So we are looking forward to offers from companies willing to participate in these projects. There is also a practice when businesses invest in the installation of such systems and then sell their heating services (some facilities are already working in this way, e.g. in Tyachiv and Mizhhirya district, were are studying the feasibility). So, we invite to cooperation" – Vasyl Hubal said.
