Ukraine has increased gas imports from Slovakia

In November 2014, Ukraine increased natural gas imports from Slovakia – its main alternative to Russian imports of hydrocarbons – by 9.3% to 884.4 million cubic meters compared to 809 million cubic meters in October.

This was stated by the GTS operator of Slovakia Eustream, the UNIAN reported.

According to the company, the average daily gas supply in November totaled 29.5 million cubic meters.

As reported, the gas transmission system operator of Slovakia Eustream, following the Open Season procedure, during which the company received applications for the use of additional capacities of the "Vojany-Uzhgorod" pipeline, notes a strong demand for the supply of "blue fuel" to Ukraine.

Currently, according to the Eustream, "Vojany-Uzhgorod" pipeline capacity is 11.5 billion cubic meters per year, or 31.5 million cubic meters per day.
