State Treasury owns Uzhgorod 67 million hryvnias

The State Treasury’s debt to the regional center of Transcarpathia has reached 67 million hryvnias. This amount accumulated by the city is now "lying" on the accounts of the Treasury.  This was announced today by the administrator of the Executive Committee of Uzhgorod City Council Oleksandr Volosyansky during the meeting of the Executive Committee.

These funds, as noted, include more than 4 million hryvnias of the Treasury’s debt to Uzhgorod for the last year – the Zakarpattya online informed.

This situation has arisen because of disparity between revenues of Uzhgorod and the funds transferred daily by the Treasury. Thus, according to Oleksandr Volosyansky, there are limits on payments by the Treasury: in the spring, the Treasury would transfer 5,000 UAH for the needs of the city every day, in the summer – 15,000 UAH, in September, this amount was 50,000 UAH.

However, the city provides daily inflow of taxes and payments in larger amounts than those transferred by the Treasury, and that is why the debt on the accounts of the institution is growing. 

"If we make calculations, then the Treasury, if they tranfer 50,000 UAH daily, will repay this amount of 67 million hryvnias in six months," – Oleksandr Volosyansky said.
