In addition to local students, 32 children from the eastern regions and Crimea have been enrolled at schools in our districts. In particular, at Vynogradiv school №4 (11), 6 students are at Sasiv school, 3 – at Fanchykovo school. At preschools, children of this category are enrolled without any queue.
The largest number of students – 11 – were enrolled at the city school number 4. Those are children from Makyiyivka, Krasnodon, Luhansk, Donetsk, Horlivka. They are now enrolled in the second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and eleventh grades.
The principal of the city school №4 Yosyp Zhodaniy said that students had come to this educational institution in different ways and mostly without necessary documents. However, admission with incomplete set of documents is allowed – by order of the Ministry of Education.
Brother and sister David and Anya Barchenko are enrolled in 6th and 8th grades. Yosyp Zhodaniy once taught their father, now children are enrolled at their father’s old school.
Almost a month has passed since the beginning of the new school year. So it was interesting to talk to these students, who were generously received in our city, mostly by relatives.
David Barchenko, Luhansk:
"I have a very good impression of the town. We rent a house. We went hiking in the mountains. Teaching is in Ukrainian, but I understand everything."
Anya Barchenko, Luhansk:
"I know Vynogradiv since 2003 – when I first came here. I miss my school, my city. It is a shame that such events occur, especially when it comes to friends."
Lisa Holubtsova, Luhansk:
"It was the decision of mum and dad to move here. Here we have relatives on my father’s line. It was hard to travel to Vynogradiv for two days, especially with a small baby who was only 3 weeks then."
Nikita Hluschenko, Donetsk:
"We were invited to Vynogradiv by relatives, after all, I’m in the 11th grade, graduation year. I used to go to a Ukrainian school, so I have no problems with the language of teaching. Gradually I began to understand Transcarpathian dialect. In time, perhaps, I will learn it!".
