A citizen of Ukraine driving a truck "VOLVO FH4H2T" with a trailer arrived at the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop Customs. The Ukrainian was delivering electric chandeliers from Italy to a Ukrainian company. The driver presented shipping documents for customs clearance, according to which he was carrying "electric lamps" worth nearly 127.6 thousand euros.
However, according to the information contained in the export declaration of the Austrian customs, the chandeliers delivered from Milan to Kyiv had gross weight of 2151 kg and cost about 179 thousand euros. Given this fact, they began checking the legality of transportation of the goods across the customs border of the country.
It turned out that the head of the shipping company was responsible for all activities related to the organization of export-import transportation of the company and that the invoice incorrectly stated the cost of the goods. The real cost is more than 184 thousand euros. This was confirmed by the supply agreement.
Thus, the head of the company committed actions aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control by providing documents containing false information. These actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods being the direct objects of violation of customs regulations (electric lamps) were provisionally seized.
