On July 1, the rate of excise duty on alcohol, alcoholic distillates, alcoholic beverages in Ukraine has increased by 25% – from 56.42 to 70.53 hryvnia per liter of 100% alcohol.
This was informed by the "Interfax-Ukraine".
As reported, on April 10, the Verkhovna Rada voted to increase the rates of excise duty on spirits starting from July 1, instead of September 1, 2014, as provided by the law of Ukraine "On prevention of financial disaster, and creating conditions for economic growth in Ukraine."
On July 1, the excise tax on tobacco products also increased by an average of 25%. Specific rates of excise duty on non-filter cigarettes now amount to 96.88 UAH / th. units, on filter cogarettes – 216.5 UAH / th. units, on raw tobacco, tobacco, substitutes, tobacco extracts and essences, cigars and cigarillos – 272 UAH / kg.
The minimum excise obligation to pay excise duty on non-filter cigarettes increased from 101.6 UAH / th. units to 127 UAH / th. units, on filter cigarettes – from 231.7 UAH / th. units to 289.63 UAH / th. units.
Ad valorem rate on tobacco products remains at 12%.
The excise tax on beer in the country on May 1, 2014 increased by 42.5% – to 1.24 UAH / l.
