A citizen of Ukraine tried to import into Ukraine a minibus "Mercedes-Benz", submitting to the customs authority the documents containing false information. It happened at the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop customs on Saturday, March 29, 2014. The Ukrainian was heading from Italy to Ukraine on personal business.
The citizen was requested to fill out a customs declaration in which he stated his passport data, the lack of foreign currency, the availability of personal belongings, as well as information about the commercial vehicle "Mercedes-Benz", model "Sprinter CDI", registration number plate of Ukraine. During the oral questioning, the citizen confirmed the information stated by him in the customs declaration.
As a basis for the movement of the vehicle across the customs border of Ukraine, the citizen filed with customs authorities the certificate of vehicle registration issued for a van "Mercedes-Benz", model "Sprinter 316CDI" owned by a resident of Chernivtsi region.
The customs specialists were in doubt about some facts, therefore it was decided to conduct a thorough review. During the inspection, they detected inconsistency between the body number of the transported vehicle and the body number specified in the certificate of registration.
Such actions of the citizen of Ukraine have signs of a violation referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The protocol on violation of customs regulations was drawn up against him. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, according to this protocol, the goods – direct objects of violation- were temporarily seized from him.
The value of the seized vehicle will be determineed by an expert.
