The Synevyr lake topped the popular online ranking “Top sights of Ukraine – chosen by people”

The Synevyr lake these days topped the popular online ranking "Top sights of Ukraine – chosen by people."  As a result of the national survey, as of March 25, the lake gained over 32 thousand votes and won the first place in the nationwide ranking of the places of interest in the country.

Mass interest in Synevyr is not surprising, as it is the largest natural lake in the Ukrainian Carpathians. It is located between the mountains, among the spruce forest, at an altitude of 989 meters above the sea level in the northern part of the National Park "Synevyr." 

         The Synevyr lake is recognized as the wetland of international importance (Ramsar Convention) and is one of the seven natural wonders of Ukraine.    It was formed about 10-11 thousand years ago due to the mass shift of sandstone, which fell off the southern slope of the Krasna mountain and blocked the ancient valley of the Synevyr stream.

          Poetically called the Sea Eye, the Synevyr lake is a real gem of the Carpathians. From above it actually resembles an eye. There is an island in the middle, like the pupil of an eye, and long fir branches are like fabulous lashes.

         For tourists, there is an ecological trail around the Synevyr lake. There is also a motel, restaurant, playground. Horse riding is successfully developing.

The beauty of the lake is recognized by internet users who for a long time have been voting for the natural wonder within the online project "Top sights of Ukraine – chosen by people", which was launched in October 2013. Its purpose is to draw attention to the historical sites and natural heritage of Ukraine.

The top ten of the ranking includes another interesting object of the National Park "Synevyr" – the Centre for rehabilitation of brown bears. Now, there are 12 bears there, and many tourists come to see them from all over Ukraine.

Currently, the organizers have not specified the deadline for voting in the online rating "Top sights of Ukraine – chosen by people," so you can vote for the Synevyr lake and the Center for rehabilitation of brown bears every day at http://10ukraine.com.ua.
