Batteries, that are used in electrical devices, sooner or later exhaust their service life, and then there is the question of what to do with them.
If you carefully read what is written on batteries, you will find a warning of the dangers of throwing batteries with household waste. It is because conventional batteries contain many toxic elements that are capable of severe pollution of the environment.
Remember:
- a battery is capable to contaminate 400 liters of water
- 20 square meters of soil
- two old batteries from a flashlight can ruin two baths, 8 buckets and a kettle and a half of clean water.
How to deal with this in Uzhgorod?
On the initiative of the owners of the "Mustard Seed" Lane, they have installed a modern eco-dump that accepts only sorted waste, and there is also a block for receiving used batteries.
So, Uzhgorod residents and guests have an opportunity not to clutter the surrounding area with used batteries and take them to the dump, which then will send them to the battery utilization centers in Ukraine.
The address of the Mustard Seed Lane in Uzhgorod: city center, Fedynets st., 16 – Tourinform Transcarpathia reported.
