The EU will not meet the requirements of Kyiv on financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 20 billion euros in case of signing an association agreement with the EU.
This was stated by the representative of the European Commission, Olivier Bailey, the "Deutsche Welle" reported.
According to him, the drafted agreement will help Ukraine to achieve economic recovery, because it includes, among other things, investment plans.
"Material well-being and future of Ukraine shall not be the subject of bid, where the one who offers the highest price wins," – the representative of the European Commission said.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said that to sign the Association Agreement with the EU, Ukraine needs financial assistance amounting to 20 billion euros in loans.
"We suggested the European Commission to consider conditions for our industry and the economy as a whole", – he said at the Cabinet meeting on December 11.
