This is the name of the new drama theater in Transcarpathia, which will be created under the decision of the committee, which met a few days ago in Perechyn. They were the intellectuals and creative elite of Uzhgorod city, Uzhgorod, Velyky Berezny and Perechyn districts.
"LEMko" is Lemko ethnic art, the head of the Transcarpathian Society "Lemkivshchyna", writer Vasyl Mulesa explains. The drama theater will be based at the community center in the village of Zarichovo in Perechyn district. He says that this village was chosen on purpose, as it is considered the "capital" of Transcarpathian Lemko.
The theater will be amateur, not professional. The first production will be the "Star of Bethlehem" by the eponymous play of Vasyl Mulesa. It is planned to be staged by the New Year.
