Since the beginning of the year, specially authorized entities for combating corruption have drawn up and submitted to the court 60 reports on administrative corruption offenses.
Of the total number of reports, 10 are for receiving improper benefits, 1 is for giving improper benefits, 11 are for violation of restrictions on secondary employment, 28 are for failure to submit tax return, 8 are for conflict of interest, 2 are for failure to take measures against corruption.
Over the specified period, courts have considered 43 reports, following which 34 offenders were penalized with fines; 9 cases were closed.
Another 18 reports are pending in courts, including 11 in the courts of the first instance, 7 in courts of appeal.
Among those persons, who have been prosecuted for corruption, there are 15 members of village, town, city and district councils, 4 local government officials, 4 officials of the environment protection service, 2 employees of regulatory bodies, 1 police officer. Of those, 22 are in local government, 2 are in the public sector, 2 are in the education sector, 1 is in the land relations sector, and 1 is in the energy sector.
Out of 34 offenders, 14 people have already been dismissed from their posts, including 5 – due to the prosecution for corruption offenses, 9 – at their own request prior to drawing up of the report or the court order for prosecution entering into force. Requests for termination of office against 12 deputies have been submitted, of which 4 have been upheld, others are pending – the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region reported.
