Uzhgorod residents voluntarily hand over weapons

The month of voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition is carried out to counteract illegal distribution of weapons and the possibility of it falling into the hands of criminals, and to register hunting weapons and special equipment kept by citizens without permits.

Residents of the city can voluntarily surrender their weapons until November 30. If a citizen voluntarily surrenders hunting, firearms, edged or gas weapons within the specified time, in the future, after completing the relevant documents, they will be able to register the weapons and use it legally.

Recall that according to Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: possession, storage, acquisition, manufacturing, repair, transfer or selling of firearms, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices without a permit required by law shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term of two to five years.

Any person who voluntarily surrendered to the authorities weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices shall be discharged from criminal liability.

Since the beginning of November, citizens have voluntarily surrendered to the police seven itmes of weapons – Diana Dorohiy, Uzhgorod City Police informed.
