Today, an extraordinary campaign took place in the regional center of Transcarpathia. Children raised an "adult" problem – the common motto of the campaign was "Drunk driver is a murderer!".
Hundreds of drivers on major interchanges of Uzhgorod read children’s appeals not to drink alcohol before driving. The campaign was silent but extremely informative. Using manufactured signs, that you will not find in the traffic rules, the children urged adults not drive cars while being intoxicated and showed the effects of irresponsible driving. A lot of drivers slowed down to see the signs, and enthusiastically cheered young traffic inspectors nodding their head and giving "thumbs up".
The head of the Traffic Police in Transcarpathia said – "Unfortunately, not all drivers can be influenced by the punishment for being driving while intoxicated, although since the beginning of the year, in our small region traffic inspectors have found more than 2000 (!) such violators. Some are not affected by horrible shots from the scenes of road accidents. It for this category of drivers that our campaign aims. Maybe at least some of them will react to children’s calls and start driving safely."
