It was mentioned yesterday, November 7, at the meeting of UzhNU representatives with Romanian colleagues from Maramures County, the university media center reported. The partners in the project are the Mineralogy Museum – the Planetarium of Baia Mare (Romania) and the International Association of Institutions for Regional Development "IAIRD" (Ukraine).
The aim of the project is the development of tourism and economic potential of the border areas of Maramures county and Transcarpathian region. It involves the organization of educational activities for students in a multimedia format through online conferences, presentations, their involvement in planetary demonstrations inside and outside points of astronomical observations.
"The classes will be conducted at the planetarium. That is, it will not be just a place for tourists. The project will allow to explore starry sky wider. For this purpose, there are laboratory works, and it is difficult to find time to show the starry sky through one telescope – it really depends on the weather. And here, although the sky is artificial, but the practice session can be held in any weather, and a few dozen people will be able to watch it at the same time!"- the head of the space research department of UzhNU Vitaly Yepishev said.
As part of the project, they plan to prepare the textbook "The Book of Star Reading," which will be released in three languages and will be available for students and school pupils.
