On August 1, the police start hunting on “foreigners”

On August 1, the series of preventive measures codenamed "Customs control" starts in the region.

In order to monitor the legality of vehicle operation and termination of illegal stay of foreign registered vehicles in Ukraine and violation of customs regulations by drivers, mobile groups consisting of officers of the Traffic Police, Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and representatives of customs will be working on the roads of the region.

We inform you that if a foreign vehicle stays in Ukraine for over 2 months while not being registered with the traffic police, a traffic police officer shall draw up against the driver a protocol on administrative violation (violation of Section 29.2 of the Traffic Rules), which provides for liability in the form a fine from 170 to 255 UAH (Part 6 of Art. 121 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences). In the case of repeated commission of the offense within one year, the driver shall be brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine from 255 to 510 UAH or public works with compensated confiscation of the vehicle (Part 7 of Art. 121 of the CAO). Traffic police officer has the right to temporarily detain a vehicle by locking or delivering it to the impound lot.

Also, drivers who violate the law on vehicle stay in the customs territory of Ukraine shall be held accountable by the customs authority in accordance with the Customs Code of Ukraine – the Traffic Police Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region reported.
