On Tuesday, April 16, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda met with ambassadors of the Visegrad Four – the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Hungary in Ukraine Mihai Bayer, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine Henrik Litwin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Ukraine Ivan Pochuh and the charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine Marek Shafin.
At the meeting they discussed, in particular the development of checkpoints between Transcarpathia and neighboring European countries and ways of European integration of Ukraine.
– Transcarpathian region is bordered by three of the four Visegrad countries. We, like no one else, are interested in cooperation both economically and socially. It is promoted by already established cross-border ties and our geopolitical position – Ivan Kachur said.
– We see and appreciate Ukraine’s aspirations for European integration. I hope this visit will be another important step towards closer relations both bilateral with each country and relations of Ukraine and the countries of the Visegrad Group – Henrik Litwin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine said. – This visit is a friendly gesture towards Ukraine and, primarily, Transcarpathia.
