"In Transcarpathian region the 3rd level of flood protection was announced. This is a standard situation without adverse effects. That is, the water remains between dams. There is no threat of significant flooding. But all services are working in emergency mode as more rains are expected," – the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Vilkul said during his speech at a press briefing after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
He also noted that on the flat part of the country there are small fluctuations in water levels. Flooding has not yet begun.
There are three levels of flood protection: level 1 – rise of the water level, level 2 – water on the floodplain, and level 3 – when the water is kept between dams. So far, the special state was introduced only in Transcarpathia.
