The thief that has robbed a number of Uzhgorod apartments, described his method of “work”

Recently, officers of the Criminal Investigation department of Uzhgorod police received information that on Zahorska street a suspicious man was hanging around near the houses.

Having arrived there, the detectives arrested a previously convicted (for burglary) 33-year-old resident of Uzhgorod district. In his pockets he had pick-locks. The detainee admitted that he intended to break into one of the apartments. But later it turned out that he had been involved in a number of residential burglaries in the city.

As the man told, he had committed burglaries alone and usually during the day when people were at work. He would choose simple locks, that are easy to pick, and then would ring the door bells. If no one was answering, he would enter there. In apartments he would only take money and jewelery, which then he would sell.

The thief will be tried under the law.
