700 pieces of expensive furs, which our countrymen tried to import to Ukraine without paying customs duties, were seized by Chop inspectors at the customs post "Luzhanka."
A man and a woman were crossing the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by car at midnight. For customs clearance they chose the "green corridor".
Customs officers conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle at the site. In the luggage compartment and the back seat of the car the customs officers found two bags of raw mink pelts. The undeclared 700 pieces of brown and white fur skins weighing 116 kg are subject to customs duties.
At present, protocols under Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine have been executed against the citizens of Ukraine. According to preliminary estimates, the furs are worth about 300,000 UAH and subject to mandatory payment of customs duties.
