“Smart” street lights in Vynohradiv

Through four consecutive years, Vynohradiv City Council has been the winner of nationwide contest of projects and programs for local government development. The most recent achievement for the city is the project for reconstruction of street lighting in residential area on Pershotravneva – Komunalna streets. Everything involves the use of modern energy saving technologies. 

The goal of the project is to connect residential area on Pershotravneva – Komunalna streets to other streets by creating a lighted corridor as well as to improve the crime situation in the city, to ensure the safety of traffic and pedestrians, to reduce the budget expenses on energy and maintenance equipment, to reduce energy consumption.

In this project there is an innovation – by means of special equipment for automatic control of street lighting it is possible to adjust the time of street lights switching on. In particular, after 12 p.m. every other lamp goes off automatically. Due to the use of energy saving lamps – using modern sodium light sources with much longer lifetime – the fixtures installed capacity has decreased.The estimated payback of the reconstruction of street lighting network is three years.
