Exchange rate in 2013 will be 8.7 UAH per dollar, compared to 8 UAH per dollar in 2012. Experts predict that the hryvnia will collapse. This is stated in the World Bank report on the prospects for the world economy, provided to UNIAN. However, in 2014, according to the World Bank, a gradual strengthening of the national currency will begin – to 8.6 UAH per dollar. The projected dollar rate in 2015 is 8.4 hryvnias per dollar. As UNIAN reported earlier, the World Bank lowered the forecast for Ukraine’s GDP growth in 2013 to 2.2% from the previous forecast of 3.5% made in November 2012. Also GDP growth forecast for 2014 has changed – to 3.2% from 3.5%. Projected 3.5% GDP growth rate in Ukraine can be achieved only in 2015, as stated in the report of the World Bank. According to experts of the investment company Concorde Capital, hryvnia devaluation may occur in January and February, and at the end of 2013 it may reach 10%.
