In Uzhgorod school holidays have been extended for saving reasons

School holidays for Uzhgorod students have been prolonged for another week. School was supposed to start on January 14, but today it was reported that the "happy day" had been moved to January 21.
This information was confirmed by the head of Uzhgorod Education Department Marian Komarnicki. "We fulfill the order of the mayor, – he explained. – The prolongation will be compensated at the expense of spring break. I myself am against this decision, because it creates more trouble to parents of schoolchildren, but I can not do anything."
The reasons are purely economic. The City Hall wants to save on heating. There is no influenza in the city, moreover, the current number of patients with acute respiratory disease is 1.5 times less than the epidemic threshold.
Meanwhile, in Beregovo the school started on January 9, but in Mukachevo children will sit at their desks also on January 21.
