This was announced by the head of the region, Oleksandr Ledyda during a conference call chaired by the Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Tihipko. The nationwide conference on Thursday, November 29, was attended by heads of relevant ministries and regions of Ukraine – informed the press center of RSA.
– The purpose of the meeting is to understand the problem of regions and the mechanisms of timely payment of salaries in the public sector – addressed the participants the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Tihipko. – For, on the one hand, we have information that there are arrears, on the other hand, official data indicate that the situation is completely under control.
In April-October, the Treasury lent additional 2.5 billion hryvnias for payment of salaries. The Deputy Finance Minister Serhiy Rybak said: at the end of the year some regions sought additional financial resources. Thus, the current arrears of wages were declared by Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv and several other regions. In the latter two, for example, the salary debt in the public sector is about 64 million and 42 million hryvnias respectfully.
– Today Transcarpathia has no wages arrears for public sector workers. But with the onset of cold weather, traditionally, the situation is complicated by the increasing costs of protected items – significant amounts of payments for energy are added to the payments of salary. Therefore the region has requested to allocate additional 19 million hryvnias for the timely and full payment of wages and 7 million – to pay for energy, – said the head of the region Oleksandr Ledyda.
