Each of them is directly related to the history of Mukachevo and its castle. The exhibits were bought at Sotheby’s auction. Today they were presented as patronage gift to the museum from entrepreneur Andriy Baloha.
The first exhibit is ancient map of Hungary, Transylvania, with the territories of Croatia, Slovenia, Moldavia and Wallachia, prepared by Samuel Dunn for Robert Sawyer. The map is dated the year 1774.
The second exhibit is the engraving "Monhats" or Mukach.
The author of the work is Bodener Gabriel – either father or son. They were two engravers and publishers in the eighteenth century Augsburg known for their works all over Europe. The state of preservation is satisfactory, slightly yellowed. Artistic value: antiques.
The third exhibit is the plan of Monhast fortress (modern Mukachevo), 1705.
The state of preservation of the exhibit: yellowing, dirt, stains, a big spot in bottom right corner, vertical fracture, vertical sticker on the back.The exhibit has historical and antique value as a sample of engraved plan of the city from early eighteenth century.
These three unique exhibits were presented today, October 17, in Mukachevo castle "Palanok" in Ilona Zrinia room. The event was attended by the Mayor Zoltan Lendyel, his deputy Mykhailo Labosh, "Palanok" museum director Mykhailo Belekanych, representatives of civic and cultural organizations of the city, historians and museum staff.
Each exhibit has an expert opinion on the authenticity by the Museum of Arts named after B. and V. Khanenkos.
