Photo of a large metal object, similar to sundial, which by means of photoshop is "set" in the green area of Koryatovich sq. (opposite the entrance to the "green" market), was posted by a blacksmith Serhiy Bezyk in his facebook profile.
So far the author has not responded to numerous questions about what it is and what this artwork means. However, users of social network suggest that this is a new project of the blacksmith.
Serhiy Bezyk is known as the initiator of "Postcards from the Past" – this project provoked lively discussion among journalists and participants of the movement for the revival of the architectural face of Uzhgorod as an example of bad decoration of the city with superfluous details that overburden the historic center. Thus, scientific and artistic council of the city sent the project "Postcards from the Past" to rework.
Also the blacksmith initiated the idea to upgrade pedestrian bridge railing. The project, which would cost about million, also was criticized because of inconsistencies of the new design with the architectural environment of the city.
Both initiatives were first disclosed to the public through photos posted by Serhiy Bezyk online. Whether the new photo with sundial (?) means that soon the blacksmith will suggest to install a giant forged chronometer should, perhaps, be confirmed or refuted by the author.
By the way, as we learned from sources in City Hall, next week there will be a meeting of scientific and artistic council where Serhiy Bezyk will introduce updated versions of "Postcards from the Past." In the new the draft he had to take into account wishes of council members, professional artists and teachers.
