On Thursday, September 27, the meeting of the Regional intersectoral council for professional education was held.
At this meeting, the participants discussed issues of practical training for students of vocational schools and the availability of working profession specialists.
To receive quality education students of vocational schools should undergo practical training. Usually young people have practice at the enterprises of the region or in school workshops. The student, who has practice at an enterprise receives salary. According to the law, 50% of earnings is to be received by the trainee, and the rest should be transferred to the accounts of schools. However, in actuality all the money go to students, and only then they deposit the money into the account of the institution. And the enterprises themselves do not provide information about the salaries of trainees.
Currently, they created the working group that will study the demands of the regional labor market in the workforce and work towards the formation of public procurement. The group includes representatives of branch offices of regional administration, the regional organization of industrialists and entrepreneurs and regional employment center.
Further it is planned to develop measures to improve the functioning of the system of vocational education, possible ways of strengthening relations between VET institutions and employers to ensure availability of workforce in economic sectors – informed the press center of RSA.
