Ukraine has warned its trading partners on the possible increase of tariffs on hundreds of imported goods. Reuters believes that such a move could lead to a global trading system loss.
The "secret" document sent to WTO members last week announces the intention of Ukraine to increase the amount of tariffs on more than 350 kinds of goods.
The document consisting of 85 pages, details on what products Kyiv plans to increase taxes. However, the agency reports that Ukraine has already declared its readiness to negotiate with WTO regarding concessions.
A possible decision of Ukraine have raised concerns in the U.S. Meanwhile, the WTO is less pessimistic because even such a radical step on the part of Ukraine does not violate the limits stipulated by the rules of the organisation.
