Residents of Rahiv are not indifferent to the state of cemeteries. Here this problem is very crucial, scince the district has 86 active and 20 old cemeteries. "This initiative is timely for the settlements because cemeteries are under the resposibility of either village council, or church community who now have no money to put places of eternal rest in order. Therefore, people were glad to join the cleaning," – said assistant deputy Mykhailo Shtefko.
During the month in Tyachiv district over the dozen cemeteries have been cleaned of debris, plastics, and weeds. The grass have been cut, old dumps have been eliminated, new paths have been laid out. In Dibrova the cleaning is still going on, because the area there reaches eight acres and it takes a lot of time to clean up.
Cleaning of cemeteries continues in Nyzhnya Apsha, Teresva, Bedevlya … Also people started to clean up cemeteries in Solotvino, Bilovarka, Dobryanske, Kryve, Ternovo.
This initiative is also supported by believers, because now the place of eternal rest looks properly. "The Church is also committed to such initiatives, because we have to take care not only of our earthly life, but also of the soul. Therefore, our task today is to listen to our own hearts and do good deeds. Whenever a person does good, it saves souls of others, as well as their own" – said Father Mykhailo, rector of the church in the Hlyboky Potik.
As for Rachiv district, currently 13 cemeteries have been cleaned of debris, weeds. In addition to mowing grass, picking up dry leaves and garbage, they paint gates.
Overall, in Tyachiv district already 26 cemeteries have been cleaned, in Rakhiv – 35.
By All Saints Day, on November 1, residents of Tyachiv and Rachiv districts will be able to proudly come to clean cemeteries and light a candle for the repose of relatives. Organizers are grateful to everyone who contributed to cleanings.
