Wages of Ukrainians both an average monthly nominal and a real one have grown – said Zakarpattya online, citing the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
During the first half of this year, average nominal wages have increased compared to the same period in 2011 by 16.9 percent, and its size has reached 2916 UAH. June wages rose 3.1 percent more and exceeded a three thousand milestone – 3009 hryvnia. It should be noted that this is almost three times higher than the minimum wage and cost of living for able-bodied people, which makes 1094 UAH.
The highest rate of wages growth in June compared to May were observed in the field of education, health care, social assistance, culture and sports, as well as in air transport.
Wages in June rose in all regions, except for Cherkasy region. The highest growth was recorded in Chernivtsi, Volyn, Transcarpathian, Ternopil and Rivne regions: respectively from 8.2 to 7.2%.
If we take into account changes in consumer prices (inflation, which has been record low since the beginning of the year – only 0.1%), real wages in June compared to May grew by 3.4 percent.
Thus, in the first half of 2012 compared to the corresponding period last year, the growth rate of real wages made 15.6%. This salary growth rate is almost twice higher than last year.
