In order to speed up customs clearance procedures for goods and vehicles, 7 information terminals have been set at the four checkpoints of Chop customs. According to the Head of Chop customs Pokhil’ko Alexander, such a modern mechanism simplifies and speeds up the procedure for making customs declarations and allows identify errors made by a declarant at the initial stage of customs clearance. Also it minimizes the subjective influence of the customs officials when making declarations for customs clearance and their distribution.
So now a declarant, using a removable carrier, enters information into the specified terminal. The information should contain an electronic copy of the declaration of customs value and the date and time of its submission should be recorded.
As the acting head of the customs checkpoint "Uzhgorod-Vantazhny" Oleg Chaban said, in such a way real control of a deadline for customs clearance of goods is recorded, unconditional automatic registration of submitted declarations in the databases of Customs and Customs Service is provided.
Two information terminals on the territory of the customs point "Uzhgorod-Vantazhny" are already functioning in places of arrival of "Autoport-Chop" and branch "Ukrinteravtoservis-Zakarpattya" vehicles. Since the introduction of information terminals (12.04.12) the customers have worked out more than 6.5 thousand cargo customs declarations – said Victoria Sengetovskaya, a spokesman for Chop Customs.
