In Uzhgorod people, who introduce themselves as activists of the Party of Regions, demand money from small business entrepreneurs, allegedly for the elections.
This was told in a comment for Gazeta.ua by an MP from "BUT-Batkivshchyna" Alexander Sochka.
"People call me since I am a people’s deputy. They say that they do not know how to behave, because entrepreneurs in Uzhgorod are frightened. They share information with each other that they are visited by people who introduce themselves as the Party of Regions and demand money for the elections. They come into the office and say: We represent the Party of Regions, and we need money for the elections", – said the politician.
He also added that entrepreneurs, if they refuse to pay, are just threatened with troubles with the tax police.
"Small business is really the most unprotected in Ukraine – he added – because people do not have money to hire expensive lawyers or organize some sort of protection. Unfortunately, these people do not have strong unions, so these people can be easily made to pay money. These people, who come, do not mind getting even small amounts of money, beginning from 200 hryvnia – they pick it up and move on. And in the course of the conversation they try to claim as much as possible".
Sochka also noted that he was going to address the police, but he has strong doubts that this will help much.
