The chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda met with the head of Presov self-governing region Peter Hudik and Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic Stanislav Obitsk on Friday, July 13 – informs the press-center of RSA.
Transcarpathian region and Presov self-governing region have close diplomatic, socio-economic and cultural ties. Between the regions, in particular, was signed a cooperation agreement.
– We, as the local authorities must check if the representatives of the Slovak minority, who now live in Transcarpathia, feel themselves comfortable here. In the region work Slovak organizations, the center of culture and school. There are all conditions for the normal and effective cooperation, – said Oleksandr Ledyda at the meeting.
In his turn, Peter Hudik assured the Transcarpathian leader in full support of the Ukrainian communities and organizations that operate in Slovakia.
Also during the meeting was discussed the issues of checkpoint ‘Ulich-Zabrod’ construction. Opening and operation of this point must strengthen cultural relations between the two countries and to establish cooperation in the economic sphere, convinced officials from both countries.
