National Bank suggests imposing a fine of 8500 hryvnia for lack of payment terminals in establishments engaged in trade and other forms of service. This rule is included into the bill imposed by the bank "On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine (concerning the functioning of payment systems and the development of non-cash payments)" (№ 10 656).
Consumers, according to the initiators of the innovation, have the right to freely choose the way of payment. Denial or restriction of such rights may be punished by a fine of five hundred untaxed minimum incomes of citizens.
Tax office is offered to monitor the availability of terminals.
NBU explains its initiative, in particular, by the desire to distribute non-cash payments system and improving the quality of services, UNIAN reports.
