The Miraculous Icon of the Mother of God, in front of which the enlightenments of our nation and the Slaves Apostles, Saint Cyril and Methodius prayed, is located in the side chapel of Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, where hundreds of thousands of faithful people pray every year.
The copy of this icon will ‘dwell’ soon in the oldest temple of our country – Rotunda of the village of Goriany.
THE PROGRAM OF CELEBRATION
Saturday, June 23
7 a.m. – 7 p.m. – Placing the Icon of the Mother of God in Uzhgorod Cathedral for prayer worship.
Sunday, June 24
10 a.m. – the procession with the Icon of the Mother of God from the Cathedral to Rotunda in the village of Goriany.
12 a.m. – Archbishop Liturgy. Prayer for restoration of our Diocese of the Virgin consecration. Complete release. Proclamation of Decree on spiritual kinship of the Rotunda in Goriany with the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome which is the oldest relic of the Europe.
