The Foreign Ministry pointed out that two of our dwellers were sentenced to death during two years of Ukraine’s independence.

For example, Ukrainian Viktoriia Mamontova was sentenced to death for drugs possession in Thailand. ‘The mentioned decision was not implemented. Thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs work this sentence was replaced by life imprisonment and later to 33 years of imprisonment. V. Mamontova was pardoned by the King of Thailand and returned to her Motherland in 2009’, – pointed out Voloshyn.
