Today, at about 4 a.m. another group of illegal migrants was detained in the area of border point “Novoselytsia” of Chop border detachment, the department press service informs.
A service dog was the first to react on the suspicious movement near the border, an instructor instantly understood it. Thanks to the coordinated actions, the border guards arrested eight offenders. None of them had documents as it turned out: 3 men and 5 women. The detainees explained that they were citizens of Somalia and sought to get to one of the EU Member States – Slovakia. The detainees will be identified later and the decision of their liability and fate will be decided by the court.
A Russian Federation citizen K. (Ossetian, as evidenced by his passport), who was also trying to illegally enter the Slovak Republic through the area of responsibility "Uzhgorod" under cover of darkness, was stopped with the help of the thermal surveillance device.
